Next time an unsightly pimple has you feeling like you can't leave the house...don't. Instead, check out dermatologist Dr. Vail Reese's film survey of movie-star skin conditions — real and fabricated for dramatic effect — and take comfort in seeing that celebrity is no prophylactic for blemishes or hair loss. Part cautionary tale (Still heading to the beach slathered in tanning oil? See what years of sun worship did to Robert Redford and Brigitte Bardot), part diagnostic tool (Has the clinical name for the affliction that plagued the Elephant Man escaped you?), the site packs the morbid appeal of those pictures of strange diseases in medical texts. But as a premise for Reese's obsessive, myopic take on movies, skin is a little thin. C
