Details Lead Performance: Crash Test Dummies

A Worm's Life, the third album from Crash Test Dummies, sorely lacks the monster hooks that drove their '94 hit ''Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm, Mmmm'' to the top of the charts. Brad Roberts' chocolaty baritone is unmistakable, but unfortunately, it's the only interesting thing about the disc. With their self-consciously clever lyrics and watery pop melodies, the group sound like a third-rate XTC.
