SUITE 16 Pete Postlethwaite, Geraldine Pailhas (1995, A-Pix, unrated, priced for rental) This erotic thriller starts off in familiar territory, as a gigolo thief (Antoine Kamerling) runs from the cops and ends up in the luxurious home of a wheelchair-bound millionaire (Postlethwaite). The usual homoerotic tension unfolds as the young stud finds himself in charge of fulfilling the rich man's voyeuristic desires by bedding a parade of prostitutes, and there's little new when the predatory roles begin to blur. But what sets this Dutch import apart are subtle performances (especially by Postle- thwaite, who earned an Oscar nom- ination for In the Name of the Father) and the film's pervasive sense of doom, raising it above Playboy Channel fare.
