Whoopi Goldberg plays a keen-witted corporate financial analyst at a big Wall Street corporation who invents a white, male partner when the big boys of the business world won't deal with her female, dread-locked self. The shrewd comedy doesn't have the polish or zing of The First Wives Club, and the big laughs are more uncontrolled, but in its smaller-scale way, it's just as zeitgeist astute and just as funny. B
