Like the Smashing Pumpkins, Comet favor long dreamy melodies and wispy vocals over thick guitars, heavily ornamented drumming, pulsing bass, and keening strings. The group manages to avoid Billy Corgan's self-pitying, sensitive-boy moping and, instead, gives us a hint of what the Pumpkins might sound like if they had a sense of humor.
