Music Capsule Review
Rappers' Ball (1996)
Credits
Few emcees can claim as distinctive a style as the Bay Area's E-40. With soulful vocal assists by Jodeci's K-Ci and additional raps by neighborhood pal Too Short, E-40 weaves together such diverse pop-culture references as Ross Perot and Gianni Versace. The recycled funk production is underwhelming, but E-40's frenetic patter is electrifying.
