Neither as tuneful and memorable as 1994's Watusi or as curious as last year's tossed-off Mini Plus EP, Saturnalia, the latest from Leeds shoe gazers The Wedding Present, finds their characteristically resigned frontman David Gedge emoting the kind of nostalgic laments and pained would-be manifestos designed for recitation in front of a bedroom mirror. Once again, though, his pain is our pleasure. B
