Renters and collectors alike apparently had no problem choosing to accept Mission: Impossible on video. The high-tech $181 million-grossing spy caper starring Tom Cruise stole the top spot on the rentals chart and came in second in sales its first week on tape. However, more viewers chose to own Eddie Murphy's family-friendly Nutty Professor (still playing in theaters, it has earned more than $128 million). Both of this week's movers and shakers are benefiting from massive media blitzes, but Paramount, launching its largest video campaign ever, hopes to nab even more cash by marking down three other Cruise missiles -- Top Gun, Days of Thunder, and The Firm -- from $14.95 to $5.99 each. Here's hoping none of those tapes will self-destruct in five seconds.
