Epiphany should solidify Chaka Khan's standing as one of the very best soul singers of the '70s and '80s. Known for her searing vocals on ageless tracks like ''I Feel for You,'' ''I'm Every Woman,'' and ''Ain't Nobody'' (a no-holds-barred live version with her original band, Rufus), Khan sounds just as good on the more recent ballad ''Love Me Still''; only the sappy ''Papillon'' is best forgotten.
