The only thing worse than a brainless direct-to-vid erotic thriller is a brainless direct-to-vid erotic thriller that thinks it's Pinter. This dreary little picture, Deep Down, serves up such heaping doses of overdone dialogue, they almost drown out the nudie scenes. Steven Segal slums away as a wacko gangster who beats his wife (the always tawny Tanya Roberts) and shoots people for talking with their mouths full — and he's the most likable character! D
