HARD BOILED Chow Yun-Fat, Tony Leung (1993, Criterion, unrated, $124.95) The last film Hong Kong action auteur John Woo made before he departed for Hollywood, Hard Boiled is the usual delirious mix of slo-mo acrobatics and stupendous explosions. But its relationship between a Dirty Harry type and a deep-undercover cop makes it seem almost traditional. This three-disc wide- screen version (from a not quite pristine print) is exhilarating, but the bonus audio tracks-mildly amusing commentary from Woo, pretentious musings from a film critic-are mostly superfluous. Just turn up the volume and let it rock. B+ -SS
