CHRIS WHITLEY Din of Ecstasy (Work/Columbia) On his sophomore outing, the once acoustic-minded Whitley creates a darkly ecstatic blues-rock canvas. With his white-blues grit and limber vocal expression, Whitley sings over tough electric guitar lines and clenched chords. A haunting, '90s-retrofitted variation on the Cream/Hendrix/Led Zep models, Din of Ecstasy is a fine din, indeed. A- -Josef Woodard
