Parallel Lives

Is there something about college reunions that makes adults act like imbeciles -- or is it just college reunions in made-for-TV movies? The embarrassment is all the more acute in Parallel Lives because of a cast -- Gena Rowlands, Liza Minnelli, Dudley Moore, Ben Gazzara, Robert Wagner -- that goes stern up in the empty (mostly improvised) script like a sinking boat. In the last 15 minutes the film finally starts to move, but if you haven't already moved on to a more interesting pursuit, like regrouting tile, you're a better person than I. D-
