THE COMPLEX SESSIONS Neil Young & Crazy Horse (1994, Warner Reprise, $16.98) In addition to helming such Oscar favorites as Philadelphia and The Silence of the Lambs, director Jonathan Demme has resuscitated the art of performance videos by skipping high concepts and concentrating on the players. Here, Demme uses basic lighting and minimal camera movement to highlight loose renditions of songs from Young's latest album, Sleeps With Angels, ranging from the show- tune simplicity of ''My Heart'' to the honky-punk exuberance of ''Piece of Crap.'' Nicely spaced in between are the lovely rocker ''Prime of Life'' and the shambling jam ''Change Your Mind,'' all shot in a voyeuristic style that perfectly suits Young's informal brand of rock & roll.
