BELA FLECK Tales From the Acoustic Planet (Warner Bros.) On his latest foray into experimental acoustic jazz, banjoist Fleck (with guests Chick Corea, Branford Marsalis, and Bruce Hornsby) alternates between New Agey noodling and what could almost pass for traditional jazz or bluegrass. Even when the tunes amble into sophisticated territory, losing their melodies along the way, there's no faulting Fleck's impeccable musicianship. B+
