In the Works

DOUBLE THREAT

* No nonsense: You'd think she would have adapted Jane Austen's Emma, but Emma Thompson chose to write herself a starring role in Sense and Sensibility, based on Austen's 1811 novel. Ang Lee (Eat Drink Man Woman) directs Thompson and costars Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman in Britain this month. * K-boom: No goofball in real life, Seinfeld's Michael Richards is collecting $3 million for My Blockbuster, in which he'll play a tollbooth attendant who pines for Tinseltown success. Richards, who devised the comedy's plot, will shoot Blockbuster next spring. * We're all connected: Theresa Randle (Martin Lawrence's wife in Bad Boys) is now filming Spike Lee's Girl 6 in New York. Randle plays an aspiring actress who takes a phone-sex job to finance a move to Hollywood.
