MULTIMEDIA IQ TEST (Virtual Entertainment, CD-ROM for PC and Mac, $19.95) Long ago, this would have been a pointless but inexpensive paperback quiz book. Now, thanks to progress, it's a pointless and expensive CD-ROM. The ancillary material on this disc warns that intelligence tests aren't too authoritative. And that's especially true about this one, which contains at least one sloppy error (in Question 125: Salvatory doesn't mean ''leaping''; saltatory does). Just as bad, the exam is intended for entertain-ment, but after the tenth time you're shown a pile of blocks and asked to guess the number, you'll be having no fun at all. D- -George Mannes
