Even other pianists are talking about Robinson because he's unique: a black, 22-year-old Chicago specialist in ragtime. Robinson plays with real understanding and accuracy, though he sometimes rushes tempos a bit. His compositions aren't yet as moving as the work of the best past masters, but the expressive closing track, ''Lonely Mable,'' shows great promise.
