Judging from these 13 tracks recorded at New York's Thread Waxing Space, the club has presented an eclectic and prescient series of shows. What was avant in 1993 (Guided By Voices' doleful Merseybeat, Giant Sand's hazy country-rock) has edged into the alterna-rock mainstream. If only there were less spoken word (so hip then, now dated) and more music.
