The Tattooed Heart (1995)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Aaron Neville

Relentlessly mid-tempo, delicately orchestrated, and sanitized of the rawness that characterized his earlier work, this sounds like a deliberate grab for pop success. Yet even with that top layer of slick, Neville's honest lyrics and New Orleans funk sensibility make it a charmer.
