If Dysfunctional had come from Seattle instead of from Dokken, an old L.A. hair-metal band, it'd be all over MTV. The soar-and-crunch melodies trace a line from Soundgarden's ''Black Hole Sun'' back to early Moody Blues. Stadium-shout choruses shift comfortably into Doors-ish blues drama, and the teenage-introvert-obsessed lyrics are actually more comprehensible than Soundgarden's. B
