Leading an alto-sax-bass-drums trio is a tall order, given the little horn's limitations, but Kenny Garrett, 34, pulls it off and then some on Triology. Blazingly swift and bursting with ideas, he's a throwback to the days when jazzmen played solos as tuneful and memorable as a song's theme. Drummer Brian Blade, 24, will be one of the best when he calms down. A
