The third outing, Tenterhooks, for ex-Replacement Chris Mars is twisted, stylized, and strained, a concoction of decadent cocktail music. From hip-hop spoofery to sloppy lounge fodder, the music is all over the map. The result is precious, in both senses of the word. B-
