Elephant Man

A preview of three upcoming movies -- A look at the untitled Bill Murray film, ''Tin Cup,'' and ''Sweeny Todd''

Trunk show
Bill Murray's next comedy, as yet untitled, can't exactly sneak into town — not with a four-ton costar. Murray, who plays a man bequeathed a circus elephant, has been friendly to crowds visiting the Denver set, where the pachyderm is as big a draw as he is.

Drier ground
Waterworld's beleaguered Kevin Costner is reportedly planning a fall rematch with writer-director Ron Shelton (Bull Durham). In the tentatively titled drama Tin Cup, Costner will play a golf pro who putts his way to the U.S. Open.

Bloody good
Macabre master Tim Burton will direct the film version of music maestro Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, the 1979 Tony award-winning musical about a barber who turns his customers into meat pies. So far no one has been cast in the vocally demanding roles.
