Twenty-six years ago Dusty Springfield released the classic Dusty in Memphis. So it must have seemed like a good idea for England's blue-eyed-soul queen to record her first album in 13 years in Memphis. Too bad A Very Fine Love sounds more like Dusty in Hell. The bombastic production flattens her gravel of a voice. And the hack writing sounds like something Kim Carnes or Bonnie Tyler would have done in the '80s. C
