On his second solo album Right on Time, Stephen Bruton, whose soulful songs have been covered by the Highwaymen and Bonnie Raitt, among others, continues to fetchingly fuse Texas country, roadhouse rock, and smoky blues. Imbued with a workingman's philosophy and greasy sex appeal, he comes across like Delbert McClinton on steroids, pumped up and ready to rock. B
