The Making of Jurassic Park

There's no mistaking the skeleton: Still sporting fadeouts for commercials, The Making of Jurassic Park is essentially the promotional program that aired on NBC in May as a teaser for Jurassic's network broadcast premiere. But the disc puts some new meat on the show's bones, adding dynamite stop-motion puppet tests for the big T. rex attack scene, as well as extraordinary production photos of Stan Winston's full-size mechanical beasties. Still, the star here is Steven Spielberg, who shrewdly downplayed many of these how-we-did-it details until now. He makes an overhyped, two-year-old monster movie look like a whole new animal. B+
