Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert (1995)

EW's GRADE
C

Details Release Date: Jul 25, 1995; Lead Performance: Eric Clapton; Genres: Reissues, Rock

Fresh from beating his heroin addiction, young Slowhand returned to live performance with this 1973 gig, at which a slew of superstar buddies (Pete Townshend, Ron Wood, etc.) offered musical and physical support. Even with eight in-the-can tracks, the inessential rerelease Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert remains a ragtag, sluggish affair, with an understandably tentative Clapton at its core. C
