This breathtakingly shot black-and-white psychological thriller is proof that low-budget films don't have to look that way. Unfortunately, it's even more proof that you can't get by on looks alone. Don't be fooled by the artsy pretense seasoning Suture's by-the-numbers noir frame-up: Dennis Haysbert and Michael Harris play estranged brothers reunited after one murders their father. The catch is that Haysbert is black and Harris is white, but no one in the movie can tell them apart. The point, that nothing's as black-and-white as it seems, is about as subtle as a hammer on the head.
