On this controlled yet fiery live set, tender young saxophonist Redman digs into jazz tradition no pop concessions but, rather, an eagerness to entertain. His high-note parades and blues bends draw audience whoops, but his smartest work is evident on a cubist reading of ''St. Thomas'' and on an up-tempo jaunt through ''Just in Time.'' He's not reinventing anything yet but Redman is a respectful wild man with a horn. B+
