Lead Performance: Sophie B. Hawkins
--
Hawkins' second album, Whaler, sank when it was released more than a year ago, yet the delayed popularity of this synth-pop hymn, the CD's second single, has resuscitated her career. A tribute to her father, the song has a lovely, lulling melody that more than compensates for Hawkins' shallow vocals.
