Holy cash cow! Chris O'Donnell will play (for a reported $4
million) a law yer defending his racist grandfather (Gene
Hackman) in John Grisham's The Chamber. Then it's back to the
Batcave next summer for his follow-up outing as Robin. Boy
wonder, indeed!
Signing Ex-es: Bette Midler and Diane Keaton
have signed on to The First Wives Club. The comedy, which begins
filming in New York this fall, is about not-so-gay divorcées who
take revenge on their ex-husbands after they run off with
younger women.
Days of Roth: Yes, that's Tim Roth you've spotted
skulking about New York's mean streets. He's currently shooting
the tentatively titled Gasoline Alley, playing an ex-con trying
to stay straight after moving in with his brother (James Russo).
Accent patrol alert: The British Roth is once again going
American.
