Amiable and innocuous: a drag-queen comedy as laboriously packaged as its three glam-sister ''heroines.'' Wriggling into wigs, heels, and formfitting dresses, Patrick Swayze and Wesley Snipes are Vida Boheme and Noxeema Jackson, who share the grand prize in a New York drag contest and, along with a third partner, Chi Chi Rodriguez (John Leguizamo), take off on a cross-country jaunt to Hollywood. But the trio get stranded in Snyders ville, a dusty speck of a Midwestern town that looks as if it hasn't changed much since 1850. Quel culture clash! Quel formula! Swayze, Snipes, and Leguizamo all evince a casual comic mastery of the finger-snapping, eye-rolling, hip-swivelling elan of the modern male bitch princess. But the movie reduces them to sitcom saints.
