Once upon a time, before there were adventurous Native American heroines, there was the blond ingenue Cinderella, who struggled with the housework and aspired to do nothing more than marry the prince. But these days, that glass slipper's a bit out of style. The timeless plot remains gratifying and the delicate animation charming (if uneven) in this crisply restored re-release, but '90s kids are likely to fidget through the violin-drenched songs. And though Cinderella's only 76 minutes long, its pre-MTV deliberateness often makes it seem twice that. Fortunately, even parents who are merely mortal have their own magic wand: the remote's fast-forward button. B
