As strategy games go, Machiavelli the Prince has a great premise: Struggle for wealth and power, using the tactics of the infamous political philosopher Niccolo Machiavelli, and situate the game 600 years ago. You're faced with plenty of options, like trading grog for silver, buying cardinals, or bribing duplicitous senators, but the game's crude graphics and clumsy maneuvers fail to live up to its aspirations. Read the included copy of Machiavelli's original book and skip the disc. D
