Lawrence's rangy baritone hasn't kept him from turning out some of the catchiest neo-honky-tonk of the '90s. On the concert recording Live, which hits the high points of his catalog, Lawrence displays more energy and confidence than on his studio efforts. Three acoustic versions don't measure up to the originals, but ''Can't Break It to My Heart'' writes its name in the sky. B+
