Silas (Black) and Frank (Beach) are 18, aimless, and clueless about women. What makes them different from most such characters is that they're Native Americans on an Ontario reservation. They're also in a movie that has more than coming-of-age on its mind: When a girl is found murdered, the filmmakers shift their focus to racism and revenge. That's more than this low-key Canadian drama can handle, but though it ends up nearly as confused as its heroes, Dance Me Outside nevertheless stays compelling, thanks to its cast of appealing unknowns. You haven't seen anyone quite like them before and that's meant as high praise. B
