DESTINY TURNS ON THE RADIO Dylan McDermott, Nancy Travis (1995, HBO, R, priced for rental) This movie has all the earmarks of a quirky direct-to-video title -- a not-quite-A-list cast, a faux-hip script, and really ugly cinematography. So why did it get a brief theatrical release earlier this year? Two words, and they're not slow week. They're Quentin Tarantino, whose Pulp Fiction did so well that somebody thought his acting would be a box office draw; he has a tiny role as a (supposedly) cool cat who rearranges fate for a pair of hapless lovers (McDermott and Travis). Don't bother turning on this Radio; instead, tune in to 1992's thematically similar yet far more convincing Desire and Hell at the Sunset Motel, starring Sherilyn Fenn. D
