In using guitar-based songs of disaffected youth, the compilers had the right idea — but muffed the execution. Bush, Weezer, and silverchair sound as manufactured and forced as the pop-culture references that stud the film's dialogue, while songs from Elastica, Belly, Girls Against Boys, and Archers of Loaf ensure that this album isn't a total loss.
