Strange Days (1995)

EW's GRADE
C+

Details Lead Performance: Various Artists; Genres: Electronic, Pop, Soundtracks

This collection is alternately screechy and soothing (unlike the movie, which is continually screechy). Best items here? The nuevo-punko sounds of Skunk Anansie, and a lounge-y cover by Kate Gibson of Leonard Cohen's ''Dance Me to the End of Love.'' Worst things? Well, if 1999 does, in fact, end to the strains of actress/nymphet Juliette Lewis' braying PJ Harvey songs, then bring on the Four Horsemen — please.
