Talk about an all-star collaboration: U2's single ''The Ground Beneath Her Feet'' from the Bono-penned movie The Million Dollar Hotel boasts guitar by Daniel Lanois, production by Brian Eno, and lyrics by Salman Rushdie (although you'd never know it from Poetry 101 couplets like ''I can't be sure of anything/Black is white and cold is heat''). So why is the result so ordinary? Eno's sonic atmosphere can't conceal a serious lack of melodic substance. C+
