Languid and faintly mysterious, Stan Getz weaves his way through this previously unreleased 1982 session with drummer Billy Hart, pianist Jim McNeely, and bassist Marc Johnson matching his purposeful restraint. Their work on Blue Skies, a short (46 minutes) CD, is uncommonly pure and they keep the mood beautifully sustained. B+
