NBC's Days of Our Lives and ABC's General Hospital were both born in the '60s and are known for their outlandish, youth-obsessed plots. So it's fitting that tribute books to each would be out at the same time. DOOL's Complete Family Album (Lorraine Zenka, HarperCollins/Regan Books, $25) and GH's Complete Scrapbook (Gary Warner, General Publishing Group, $30) feature detailed plot recaps and star quotes (some from DOOL are idiotic, like Drake Hogestyn saying it's ''truly important to stop and smell the roses''). The GH book is slicker with much better photos; the gallery of GH-ers gone on to greater glory (including ''sisters'' Demi Moore and Janine Turner) is a nice touch. It's also crammed with more trivia: How many know that Leonard Nimoy appeared on GH pre-Spock? As a pill pusher, no less! DOOL: C+ GH: A-
