Johnny Depp is an accountant selected by Christopher Walken to assassinate a liberal governor. If Depp doesn't blow away the politician, Walken will kill Depp's sweet little cherub of a daughter; he's given just 90 minutes to accomplish his task. The movie plays itself out in real time, a gimmick that's a big mistake, because it means we know early on that nothing significant is going to happen until the final seconds. Depp, his bespectacled eyes blinking with supplication, was more of an action hero as Edward Scissorhands.
