k.d. lang shows too much courage in her willingness to appear unattractive in If I Were You. Intercut with a cockroach, of all things, she spits out toothpaste and sings on the toilet while blasted with harsh white light and the most unflattering fluorescent colors. Why saddle such an endearing performer with a video so hard to watch?
