The Best & Worst 1995

Admit it. You sat through Congo. It's a fair bet, anyway, given that the film made $81 million. But it's just as safe to guess that not once while watching men in gorilla suits talk to other men in gorilla suits, did you think, Ah. Now this is entertainment at its finest. And maybe you wondered what you were missing. Then again, maybe not, especially if you sneaked out to catch Clockers or were nestled at home watching The Larry Sanders Show, grooving to Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, tearing into the new Lincoln bio, catching the best of Buster Keaton on video, or cruising the World Wide Web. When it came to entertainment, 1995 offered bonbons and bombs alike, but one thing's for sure: Highbrow or lowbrow, it's all a matter of taste. Ours, of course.
