Start spreading the news: Frank Sinatra will likely be honored on Grammy night, though not for his Duets. His top 5 album was ineligible for this year's Grammys because Capitol released the record five weeks after the Sept. 30 deadline. But Sinatra, who has already won a Lifetime Achievement Award (1965) and a National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Trustees trophy (1979), is the rumored recipient of the Grammy Legends Award, NARAS' most exclusive honor, which was already voted on and will be announced during the March 1 telecast. ''It's reasonable to assume that at some point, people who have gotten Lifetime Achievement awards could get a Grammy Legends Award,'' says NARAS president Michael Greene. Meanwhile, a Sinatra spokeswoman says, ''When and if it's appropriate to announce an award, it will be announced. Frank is into music for the music, not for prizes and awards.'' Especially if he's already won them all.
