If the Spin Doctors dabbled in thrash rather than funk, they might sound something like Lucy's Fur Coat, a California quintet gushing with high spirits and testosterone. Jaundice (Relativity)'s energy level is several steps ahead of their songwriting, but the boys concoct some chunky riffs that carry attitude-heavy songs like ''Insanity.'' The uncluttered, louder-is-better production is also a plus. B
