Live at the Fillmore

EW's GRADE
C+

Details Lead Performance: Derek and the Dominos; Genre: Reissues

It's a testament to Eric Clapton's hardy constitution and even more prodigious talent that he survived the excesses that transformed him into the skeletal zombie captured in Live at the Fillmore's terrifying liner photos and the lost soul who let ''Let It Rain'' drizzle for over 18 minutes nearly a quarter of a century ago. The other Dominos weren't so lucky — Carl Radle succumbed to a chronic kidney ailment and drummer Jim Gordon was permanently incarcerated after brutally murdering his mother. It's too bad their former record company couldn't allow them or these tracks (none of which compare favorably with the studio versions of the songs) to rest in peace. C+
