Beautiful Light (1994)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Lead Performance: Fleshtones; Genre: Rock

These largely unsung New York City denizens, Fleshtones, have been bashing out bacchanalian power pop for 18 years now. This time, however, they've put down the cocktail shaker and, with the help of lean, rootsy production by R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, crafted their most earnest release, Beautiful Light, while not totally forsaking the Beat. B+
